I’ve been following AR and VR tech for years now, and while the demos always look impressive, I still don’t see it integrated into everyday life. With all the talk around 5G and more immersive tech experiences, I’m wondering if we’re finally hitting that turning point where AR/VR moves from being a cool “demo thing” to something truly practical for work, education, or entertainment. Are you personally using any of this tech regularly? What’s your honest view — real revolution incoming, or still a lot of noise and marketing?

Honestly, I think it’s both. The hardware is catching up fast, but there’s still a gap when it comes to everyday usefulness. Most people aren’t buying headsets just to read emails or attend meetings. But for gaming and training — it’s already pretty powerful. We’re just not there yet for full adoption.

There’s actually a great article I found recently that explores how 5G is transforming the way AR and VR function — especially when it comes to things like low-latency streaming and real-time interactivity. It gives some practical examples that made me rethink how close we are to everyday AR/VR adoption. If you’re interested in how the tech is evolving and where it’s already making a difference, it’s definitely worth a read.

Really appreciate the input, everyone — lots of great points here. I’ll definitely take a look at that article too, sounds like it covers exactly what I’ve been wondering about. Feels good to know I’m not the only one trying to make sense of where this tech is heading. Thanks for the thoughtful replies!
