ParticipantHey everyone! 👋
Lately, I’ve been seeing tons of cooking hacks and recipes on TikTok — from one-pan pasta to 2-minute mug cakes and even some wild air fryer combos. Some of them look genius, others… not so much. 😅
I’m really curious — have any of you actually tried TikTok recipes or hacks in your own kitchen? Which ones worked surprisingly well, and which ones were total flops? I’d love to hear your experiences, especially if you’ve adapted any of them into your regular cooking routine.
Also, do you think TikTok is changing the way we approach everyday cooking, or is it just internet fluff?
Looking forward to your thoughts

ParticipantHey! 👋 Great question — I’ve definitely fallen down the TikTok recipe rabbit hole more times than I’d like to admit. 😂
Some of them really do work! I tried that viral baked feta pasta last year and it actually turned out amazing — super easy and surprisingly tasty. It even became my lazy weeknight dinner for a while. I’ve also done a bunch of air fryer hacks, like the folded tortilla wrap thing (where you make little quarters with different fillings) — so good and kid-approved too.
But yeah, not all of them are winners. I once tried that mug pancake hack… ended up with something that looked and tasted like a rubber sponge. Lesson learned: not everything needs to be microwaved!
I do think TikTok is changing how we cook — it makes recipes feel more approachable because you see real people doing them in real kitchens, usually with stuff you already have. Plus, the quick video format makes it less intimidating than reading a giant recipe online.
If anyone’s looking for a good resource to keep up with TikTok trends (not just recipes but everything trending), ProTikTok18 is pretty handy — I check it sometimes just to see what’s new.
My tip: always read the comments! TikTok comments are a goldmine for tweaks and warnings about what works and what flops.
