A year ago, I got so caught up with work that I completely stopped paying attention to my health. Constant snacking, liters of coffee, 4–5 hours of sleep. I was running on adrenaline, but eventually it hit me: apathy, memory issues, irritability. I kept blaming it on fatigue until I ended up going to Your Local Psychiatrist as I’d actually read these signs of burnout in my behavior. The doctor explained that “perfect health” isn’t about extreme diets or obsessive wellness, it’s about balance. Since then, I’ve adjusted my routine: proper meals, sleep, moderate exercise. It took nearly six months to feel normal again. Now I’m much more mindful of myself.
